Writer: Gary Goldman, Jonathan Hensleigh, Paul Bernbaum
Stars: Nicolas Cage, Jessica Biel, Julianne Moore
Genre: Action
Length: 96 minutes
Country: USA
NEXT (12A)
PLOT
Cris Johnson (Nicholas Gage) plays a magician, who performs on stage in Las Vegas. However, he has a secret, he can see into the future, but only by two minutes, and only his own future. The FBI finds out about his “special ability” and attempt to get him to help them capture a terrorist group, before they detonate a nuclear bomb in the middle of Los Angeles. Cris however, like most action heroes, isn’t quite as keen as the FBI to stopping this nuclear bomb, and “save the world”. Cris then goes on the run, using his ability to help him avoid the cops, on his way he meets Liz Cooper, and he “falls in love”. He discovers that she may be the key to mastering his powers, as he can see her whole future, whereas he can only see two minutes of his…

REVIEW
When I heard that Lee Tamahori was directing yet another high budget action film, I expected nothing but a film pumped with action, lots of gadgets, and lots of fighting. I have been a great fan of lee, ever since he directed the smash hit “James Bond: Die Another Day”, and “XXX”. Both films high on action, and have made me feel ready for anything. Yet again I was not disappointed, feeling rather happy with myself when I walked out of the cinema, ready to get in the next car I saw, and be chased by the police down the M1; fortunately I did not do that.
Supposedly based on the story written by Phillip k, Dick, “The Golden Man”, about a mutant who can see into his own future, this film doesn’t seem to seem to resemble much to do with that, apart from the fact that Nicholas Cage can see into the future. However, this film still allows for great viewing time, and keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat, waiting for Nicholas Cage to dodge a bullet, or do something adventurous, like dive of a cliff for example, sounds strange, but its even stranger when watching it. This is because, you simply think to yourself, WOW! I thought he could see into the future, not fly.

It is clear that a lot of money was spent on the special affects of this film, as they are spectacular. Another thing that shows a lot of time and money has been spent on was the stunts, from free running to diving through tremendous flaming oil spills, you name it, this film has it.
The fact that he can only see two minutes into the future may seem like a very little space of time, but however this is plenty of time to allow for enough bullet dodging, lady seducing, and FBI avoiding, that even Neo from the matrix would be happy with.

VERDICT
Despite a basic story line and some confusing parts in the film, in which you simply sit there wondering what to do to until it comes back to its usual self, it is extremely entertaining. Therefore, if you are looking for a film allows for 92 minutes of high quality, action packed, knicker gripping entertainment, with lots and lots of action, then this is the film for you!

Later That Night.

well, in lessons today we worked on our blogs, and i discovered a deep and terrible secret. Ive been breaking validity rules, ooops!

Once i'd got past that stage, i posted my first blog, which as you can see, is the blog before this one. Got home, did my media diary, in which i entered very little because i was at football untill about 7, GUTTED :(. Im really tired now as well.

Ive just realised that im listening to music at the moment, so i'll have to remember to put that in my media diary tomorrow!

Oh and also, i said earlier that i was hoping for beef and yorkshire puds, i was at first dissapointed to find that it was turkey and stuffing, but quickly accepted that there was nothing i could do about it, so sufficed the rather nice stuffing :).

bye x

First Ever Blog :-)

Media completely rules, i just love it with a burning passion.
I am beggining to master the world of blogging, having had a bumpy start when my account was blocked because it was "Broke Validity rules" :-(.
